Yakutat is very well known for its salmon runs. The Situk River, within driving distance of Yakutat, has strong runs of all five species of Pacific salmon and two yearly runs of world-class steelhead.

For day fishing you can fly out in the morning and be picked up in the afternoon or evening.

For longer fishing trips there are also lodges on some of these rivers. These lodges do, however, require advance reservations.

We can take you to the famed Tsiu River, or any of the following rivers:

Akwe River	Spoon River
East Alsek River	Yahtse Stream
Italio River	Yana Stream
Mamby Stream

A good source for fishing guides or fishing lodges, along with many other services and activities Yakutat has to offer is the Yakutat Chamber of Commerce web.

We encourage you to book ahead for day fly-out fishing.  You can simply reserve a day and a time and we'll take you to the river of your choice.  Because we've been operating in this area longer than any of our competitors we can put you on the best fishing and get you away from the crowds.  (A deposit is required at the time you book day fly-out fishing.)
